About the Artful toolkit
Created by the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA), this is the leading creative learning resource designed for people living with dementia, their support network and professionals working in healthcare settings. The toolkit contains 10 video tutorials and written instructions online that will guide you through facilitating art making activities in your own space, inspired by artworks in the MCA Collection. The toolkit is based on the MCA’s Artful: Art and Dementia onsite program.
The toolkit offers art making activities to be undertaken over approximately 6 months, however your access does not expire. The toolkit also complies with Standards 1, 4, 5 and 6 of the Aged Care Quality Standards. No prior experience or skills in art are necessary to use the toolkit.
The toolkit is available online Australia-wide and internationally for individuals.
How it works
Once you have purchased it, you will receive an email with a login link from the email address digital@mca.com.au - please check your spam filters in case you do not receive the email. Click on the link to access the 10 art making tutorials and instructions.
We recommend that care partners use the toolkit to prepare activities in advance, instead of asking an individual living with dementia to follow along with the online resource. The activities are designed to be done collaboratively and encourage a sense of connection.
